Joel Grande

Joel Thomas Grande, 52, of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 19, 1972, Joel was the son of Clara (Interlandi) Grande and the late Ralph Louis Grande, youngest of their four children. After graduating from Rippowam Cluster Program and working at several area businesses, Joel managed Stamford’s former fine gifts store C&G Crystal for years, where he was beloved by his loyal clientele, many of whom became close friends.
Raised Catholic at St. Bridget of Ireland R.C. Church, Joel was active as an altar boy (along with his older brother) and then as a singer in the folk group (along with his two older sisters). An avid music lover since childhood, the songs of Broadway musicals were among his favorites. Following his own creative muse, Joel took up needlepoint, producing an array of homemade ornaments and crafts which he shared at St. Bridget’s annual Christmas Fair.
Survived by his mother Clara, sister Melissa LoParco and her husband Anthony, brother Guy-Michael Grande, sister Nicole Schmalzl and her husband Thomas, and his two adored nieces Gianna and Isabella LoParco, Joel was predeceased by his father, Ralph; grandparents Gaetano and Philomena “Mamie” (Loglisci) Grande and grandparents Mike and Helen (Nicolini) Interlandi.
For the exceptional care given to him, Joel’s family would like to thank Belltown Fire Department, Stamford EMS, Stamford Hospital, Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, his many doctors, nurses, caregivers and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crenatory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford from 9-11 am.
