Michael Lalli

Michael Anthony Lalli, 96, formerly of Stamford and Newtown, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024. Michael was born in New Rochelle, NY on December 25, 1927 to the late Francesco and Yolanda Corsi Lalli.
A proud graduate of his hometown’s Isaac Young High School and Iona College where he studied accounting, he went on to work with such notable Manhattan-based companies as Price Waterhouse, Ziff-Davis Publishing, and Quillmark. He ended his career as comptroller at Lapine Inc. in Stamford. Before enrolling at Iona, he explored voice instruction at Julliard and enlisted in the Army-Air Corps. He served honorably during World War II stateside as purchasing agent at Eglin Airforce Base. Lifelong passions included cooking and eating, reading, and listening to music particularly classical, opera and jazz. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, especially to Disney World, Hawaii and Italy; discussing finance, philosophy, theology, and politics; and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Michael is survived by his cherished wife of 21 years, Carol Lupinacci Lalli of Norwalk; his daughters Francesca Morrisey (Michael) of New Milford and Erica Lalli of Cheshire; his stepsons Marc Lupinacci (Maryellen) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Jeff Lupinacci (Tom Vince) of New York City; Mahir “Kris” Lupinacci of Boulder, Colorado; and Brad Lupinacci (Celiandra) of Stamford; his 13 grandchildren Michela Morrissey, Isabelle Morrissey, Stephen Morrissey, Penelope Morrissey, Daniel Sullivan, Stuart Sullivan, Wyatt Sullivan, Marc Lupinacci, Jr., Jacob Lupinacci Vince, Maya Lupinacci, Liv Lupinacci, Nicholas DeVito (Sarah), Gene DeVito (Nicole); his great-grandson Jordan DeVito; his sisters Olga Rhodes and Diana Lalli; and innumerable nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Michael is predeceased by his treasured first wife of 38 years, Cele Goldsmith Lalli; and his sister, Mary Christina Lalli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rock Rimmon Road, Stamford, CT. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
