A Message from Our Owner
Since 1953, Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory has been a trusted name in funeral service in Stamford and throughout Fairfield County. What began as a personal commitment to serve families with dignity, compassion, and professionalism continues today with the same dedication and focus.
As a second-generation funeral director, I am honored to continue the legacy my father, Nicholas F. Cognetta, Sr., began. Since our founding, our mission has remained constant: to provide respectful, personalized care to families of all faiths and backgrounds during life’s most challenging moments.
We are proud to be the only funeral home in Fairfield County that owns and operates its own on-site crematory. This distinction allows us to offer families the highest level of trust, privacy, and oversight throughout the entire cremation process. Families can choose to be present during the cremation process, something no other funeral home in the area can offer. Your loved one never leaves our care.
In addition to cremation and traditional funeral services, we provide expert guidance in monument selection, ensuring lasting tributes that reflect the lives of those we honor. We are also experienced in coordinating services across all faiths, offering meaningful and culturally appropriate ceremonies that meet the needs of every family we serve.
We have continued to invest in our facilities to better serve the community. Our spacious, modern chapels, family gathering areas, on-site crematory and a seventy-six-space on-site parking lot, are all part of a commitment to excellence.
