A. Theodore Kistner, 78, previously of Stamford, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2008 at the Crestview Healthcare Convalescent Home in Waco, Texas. Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Aloysius C. and Anne E. Geyer Kistner.
A. Theodore was retired after 40 years of employment in the Executive Acquisitions Department for Pitney Bowes. Theodore was a lifetime member of the Mystic Seaport Society and was also a former member of the Halloween Yacht Club.
He is survived by his two daughters, Suzanne Murphy of Waco, Texas and Veronica Kistner Gibbs of Las Vegas, Nevada; three sons, Theodore R. Kistner of Naples, Florida; Joseph M. Kistner of Waco, Texas; and Stephen D. Kistner of Eureka, Missouri; two sisters, Anne Kriechbaum of Phoenix, Arizona; and Patrice McDonald of Massapequa, New York. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Mark F. Kistner.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Wednesday, December 10 from 5 to 8 pm. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:20 AM and proceed to St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery in Middle Village, Queens, New York.
