It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Aaron Langman, who left this world peacefully at his home on September 26, 2025, after fighting cancer. Born in Romania on September 9, 1936, Aaron’s life narrative is one characterized by resilience, overcoming the harrowing circumstances of his early years.
Aaron's childhood was marked by unimaginable adversity. In 1941, during the throes of war, his family became prisoners, enduring imprisonment in three different war camps. The series of traumatic events struck a devastating blow when he witnessed the execution of his father, Dr. Paul Langmann. This profound loss was compounded by the death of his mother, Berthia Bloch Langmann, in a prison camp in late 1944. Following these tragedies, Aaron spent the years from 1945 to 1950 in a displaced persons camp, navigating the challenges of recovery and hope until he found his way to the United States, where he would forge a new life.
In America, Aaron became the founder and owner of an apparel company, where he specialized in sourcing, selling, and reselling fine fabrics and materials. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his work garnered him respect in the industry and established him as a significant contributor to the fabric trade.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Aaron was known for his generous heart. He regularly donated to various charities that held significance for him, including the Stamford Hospital Orthopedic Department, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and the Children of Fallen Relief Fund. He exemplified compassion and commitment to bettering the lives of others, a legacy that will certainly endure.
Aaron's interests included playing tennis and following his beloved New York Yankees, pursuits that he enjoyed deeply, often sharing these passions with friends and family alike.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife in 2020, Judith F. Langman, whose love and support were integral to his journey, as well as close friends and acquaintances who will miss his warmth and presence.
A memorial service to honor Aaron’s life will be held on October 6, 2025, at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home located at 104 Myrtle Ave, Stamford, CT 06902, starting at 10:00 AM.
