Adolf J. Berardelli, 86 of Stamford, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Stamford Hospital. Born on May 11, 1924 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Attilio and Agata Falzetti Berardelli. He was a lifelong resident of Stamford.

Adolf was a machinist for 43 years for Pitney Bowes until his retirement in 1989 and was a member of the Pitney Bowes Oval Club. He was also a war veteran, serving in the Army in WWII as an MP with the Canine Division.

Adolf is survived by his nephew and godson, Nicholas J. Panaro, Jr. of Stamford; his niece, Cynthia Lopez and her husband Michael of Trumbull.

In addition to his parents, Adolf was predeceased by his sister, Iris Panaro and brother in law, Nicholas J. Panaro, Sr.

A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 9:30AM at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Interment will follow after the service at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien, CT. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 5:00-8:00PM.
