Alberico Faugno
April 4, 1940 — December 31, 2015
Alberico “Ricky” Faugno, 75, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Stamford Hospital. He was born in San Mango sul Calore, Italy to the late Raffaele and Michelina Pierni Faugno.
Ricky immigrated to the U.S in 1966, where he was employed as a devoted barber at Hoyt-Bedford Barber Shop in Stamford for over 45 years. Ricky was a devoted husband, loving father, brother and uncle and his love and passion for working, gardening and spending quality time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Antonietta Covino Faugno of Stamford, his loving sons, Ricky Faugno and his wife Suzanne of Poughkeepsie, NY, David Faugno and his wife Lauren of West Haven, CT, three grandchildren, Evan, Keira and Isabella Faugno, as well as his mother in law Lucia Covino, a sister Viola Faugno DeBlasi and her husband Umberto of San Mango sul Calore, Italy, a brother Duilio Vittorio Faugno and his wife Carmela of Stamford, a sister in law Filomena Faugno of Piedemonte d’ Alife, Italy, brother in law Angelo Covino and his wife Maria of Stamford, including many nieces, nephews of Stamford and Italy.
Besides his parents, Ricky was predeceased by his brother Salvatore Faugno.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 10:00 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 3:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ricky’s memory to the Lustgarten Foundation to support pancreatic cancer research at The Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714 or at www.lustgarten.org.
