Albert P. Cuiffo, 84, passed away on Saturday June 10, 2006 at St. Camillus Health Care Center. Born on July 15, 1921 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Dominick and Josephine Casasante Ciuffo.
Albert was an employee for the City of Stamford Public works department as a Truck Driver for thirty eight years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the VFW in the Springdale section of Stamford, and a devoted Associate Member of the Belltown Fire Department for over twenty five years.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Bochicchio Cuiffo; a daughter, JoAnne and her husband Gary Remling; a son, Albert A. Ciuffo; two sisters, Viola Pichallo and Mildred Cuiffo; and three grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Ciuffo and Nicole Remling.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, Anthony and Joseph Ciuffo; Mario Cuiffo, and Eugene Cleri; and a sister Anna Cuiffo.
There will be calling hours at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Tuesday June 13, 2006 from 9:30 10:30 AM. A funeral procession will then leave the funeral home and proceed to St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Johns Mausoleum, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien.
