Albert John DiBlasio, Jr., 60, former Stamford resident, died on September 2, 2006 at Norwalk Hospital surrounded by his family. Born March 15, 1946 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Albert John Sr. and Theresa F. Schiavello DiBlasio.
He was in telemarketing for various companies. He served in the U.S. Army, and also attended the University of Connecticut and the New York Institute of Technology. He was an avid Yankee fan. He enjoyed all sports, jazz and classic movies.
He is survived by his three sisters, Elaine D. Sheridan of Darien; Jeanne and her husband Pat Colonna of Norwalk, with whom he resided; and Theresa Ann Lakin and her husband Steven of Norwalk; a brother, Nicholas G. DiBlasio and his wife Julie of Stamford. He was loved by his eight nieces and nephews, Samantha Sheridan; David, Beth, Lisa and Amy Colonna; Andrew and Kate Lakin; and Theresa DiBlasio; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, at 9:20 AM on Friday September 8, 2006 and proceed to St. Gabriel Parish, 914 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, Darien. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday September 7 from 4:00 8:00 PM.
