Albert Rocca Sr. “Pop”, 85, formerly of Stamford, passed away peacefully at home on November 10, 2015. Albert was born in Astoria Queens, NY on January 2, 1930 to the late Bernardino Rocca and his wife Maria.
Albert was a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean War, he was a member of The Local 210 Carpenters Union of Connecticut and The Local 257 Carpenters Union of New York and also served as the Train Station Manager for the City of Stamford before his retirement.
Albert is survived by his brother, Ben Rocca of Las Vegas, NV, four sons, Frank Rocca and his wife Margaret of Newtown, CT, Albert Rocca Jr. of Newtown, CT, Robert Rocca and his wife Kim of Stamford, CT, Peter Rocca of Stamford, CT, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Albert was predeceased by his wife and soul mate, Arlene Rocca, two brothers and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00am at St. Cecilia’s Church, after which he will be laid to rest next to his Sweetheart Arlene at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Stamford, CT. There will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to assist the Rocca family with the arrangements.
He will be missed and always loved by those who knew him.
