Alfred F. Marini, Jr., a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully at Stamford Hospital on Monday, September 23, 2024. Freddy, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, was born to the late Alfred and Theresa (Marchietti) Marini on May 11, 1947. He was 77 years old at the time of his passing.
Freddy grew up on the West Side of Stamford and attended St. John Parochial School, Stamford Catholic High School and the University of Dayton. He worked for Genovese Construction for many years.
Freddy developed many lifelong friends throughout his life whom he considered family. He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his sister Ann Marie and her husband Robert. Freddy will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A mass of Christian burial will take place at 10AM on the morning of Tuesday, October 1st at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 279 Atlantic Street in Stamford. A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902, at 9:30AM should you want to take part. The interment will immediately follow the mass at St. John R.C. Cemetery in Darien.
