Alfred D. Redmond, 79, died on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Tandet Center. He was born January 9, 1927 in New York, NY, the son of the late David and Ellen Gill Redmond.
Mr. Redmond was in sales and marketing for North East Western Maryland Railroad/CSX Transportation until his retirement in 1986. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the Merchant Marines and US Army. He was a member of the Traffic Club of NY, the American Legion and the Union League Club of Chicago, IL.
Mr. Redmond is survived by his three daughters, Jeannette Matteucci and Joyce Mihalics, both of Unadilla, NY and Kathy Joerman of Stamford; one son, Sean D. Redmond and his wife, Kathleen of Batavia, IL; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Mr. Redmond is pre-deceased by his wife, Kathryne L. OConnell Redmond and one brother, Robert Redmond.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, Saturday, June 10th at 9:50 AM and proceed to St. Bridget of Ireland, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns RC Cemetery, Darien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday June 9, 2006 between 5 8 PM.
