Almerinda Macari

Almerinda (Vitti) Macari, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the age of 99. She was born in Stamford on November 17, 1921, daughter of the late Anthony Vitti and Anunziatta Tamburro Vitti, she later returned to Settefrati, Italy in the 1920s, 30s and 40s to marry Joseph Macari and have two daughters, Mary and Anna. In the 1950's Almerinda returned to Stamford, CT, her family joined her in the USA soon thereafter. She enjoyed the sport of bocce and water aerobics at the Darien YMCA and Tai Chi. She was a wonderful cook and kind woman. She is survived by five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Almerinda was a breast cancer survivor; in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, at www.cancer.org in her honor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the Sacred Heart Church, Schuyler Ave., Stamford, CT, at 10:30 a.m.
