Anatol “Andy” Dutkowsky was born in Kuty, Ukraine, August 27, 1928 died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at St. Camillus Health Care Center at the age of 81 after a courageous battle with Parkinson Disease.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stephanie Potakowsky and Osyp Dutkowsky. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Antoinette Towey Talone Dutkowsky; his children Stephan (Lisa) Dutkowsky, Anne (Paul) Salata and Andrew Dutkowsky; his grandchildren Paul and Matthew Salata, Peter, Daniel and James Dutkowsky. Many cousins in Ukraine, Switzerland, and Vienna, Austria.
He came to America in 1949 where he lived in Manhattan. He later moved to Rochester, NY where he worked at Taylor Instruments Company. With his wife and family he moved and worked for Oneida Silversmith Company in Oneida, New York and later Cadbury Schweppes in Stamford, CT, where he was Import/Export Traffic Manager.
Anatol is a graduate of Brooklyn College, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
He was a past member of St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Catholic Choir for many years and a past member of the Norwalk Community Chorale of Norwalk, CT, as well as a member of the Stamford Senior Center, Stamford, CT.
Calling hours will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 4:00 �" 7:00 PM. Following, at 7:00 PM, will be the Panakhyna Service with Father Ihor Midzak. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Friday January 15, 2010, for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 24 Wenzel Terrace, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk, CT.
