Andrew A. Concilio, born in Stamford on September 24, 1926, died on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at Stamford Hospital. He was the son of the late Carmine and Rose Pastore Concilio.

Although a graduate of Stamford High School, his graduation was delayed in January of his senior year to allow him to join the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He was an alumnus of Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He was also employed as a system analyst for a number of major corporations, including IBM. He was one of the first to transfer bank accounts to the computer. For many years, he also was an employee of the Country Club of Darien.

An avid sports fan, Andrew in particular, enjoyed being a member of the Rambler Baseball Team.

Survivors include two daughters, COL (Dr.) Mary Candace Concilio (Ret), and husband COL (Dr.) Ron Hayes (Ret) of Chapel Hill, NC; and Caryl Ann Rodriguez, and husband Jose Rodriguez of Holliston, Mass; one son, Richard Concilio of Tempe, AZ; and three grandchildren, Melissa L. Nolan of Kentucky; Kathryn R. Rodriguez of Mass; and Steven Nolan of NC. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Montaine; and Roseann DeCamillo; a brother-in-law, Nicholas DeCamillo; a nephew, Grover Parker 3rd (Dee Parker), all of Stamford; and many cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mabel Cox Concilio; a sister, Patricia Parker; and a cousin SP/4CL James J. Pastore, US Army.

Calling hours will be at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, January 26, 2007 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 8:20 AM and proceed to St. Maurice RC Church, Glenbrook Road, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM with Father Albert Pinciaro officiating. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road in Stamford.
