Angela Lorusso
March 30, 1932 — May 16, 2015
Angela Marie Lorusso, 83, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 16, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Angela was born in Stamford on March 30, 1932 to the late Charles J. and Jennie Genovese Mancusi.
A homemaker, Angela treasured her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, after raising three children of her own with her husband Canio. Over the years she also enjoyed volunteering her time to Stillmeadow School and to St. John’s and St. Leo’s Catholic churches in Stamford.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Angela is survived by her son Michael and his wife Lorraine Lorusso of Norwalk, her daughter JoAnne and her husband Michael Carpanzano of Stamford, her son Mark and his wife Patricia Lorusso of Norwalk, her brother Joseph and his wife Sue Mancusi of Norwalk, her seven grandchildren; Michael and his partner Tara, Joseph and his wife Brandi, Mario and his wife Josie, Michelle and her husband Dave, Julia, Stephen, Charles and her two great grandchildren, Canio and Fia.
Besides her parents, Angela is predeceased by her husband of 61 years Canio V. Lorusso.
A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at 8:45AM and proceed to the Basilica of St. John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday May 18, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
