Angelina Iaizzi Coppola, 95, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Canaan on February 11, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Teresa Mucci Iaizzi.
�"Angie lived in New Canaan and worked in Norwalk and Stamford until her marriage to Theodore Coppola in 1939. They had two children, Lydia C. Maffei and Theodore J. Coppola. In 1943 they founded The Coppola Shop, originally a tailor shop that later evolved into a renowned specialty shop for womens fashion on Broad Street in Stamford. They worked side by side for nearly 43 years. During those years they treasured time spent in their vacation home in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Angie is survived by her loving children Lydia C. Maffei and her husband Joseph of Stamford and Theodore J. (Ted) Coppola and his wife Jeanne of Norwalk. She leaves to cherish her memory, three grandsons and their wives, Richard Coppola and his wife Dacia, Robert Coppola and his wife Bernadette, and Michael Coppola and his wife Barbara. In addition, she is survived by her brother Louis (Coop) Iaizzi. She is also survived by the �"lights of her life, her six great grandchildren, Marc, Kylie, Matthew, Teddy, Sean and Jake Coppola.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Ted in 1986, and six sisters and brothers, Louisa Bandini, Elvira Pellegrino, Salvatore Iaizzi, John Iaizzi, Joseph Iaizzi and Tony Iaizzi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, on Friday, December 12, 2008 at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Mausoleum, Darien.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, on Thursday, December 11 from 5-8 PM.
