Angelina Cotrone, age 97, died, as she lived, with dignity and grace, surrounded by her family and friends by her side on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Stamford Hospital. Born on February 16, 1913 in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Joseph DiChiara and Rose Gulla DiChiara
Angelina was a retired seamstress for various garment factories in Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport before retiring in 1962 and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a life-long resident of Stamford and also a long time parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church.
Angelina was a kind and gentle lady who loved her family and friends dearly and took great pride in her home. Her biggest passion was cooking, and especially enjoyed sharing her dishes with family and friends.
Angelina is survived by her daughter, Diane Credi Stein and her husband Jim of California; her sister-in-law, Elsa Pia of Shelton; her grandson, Michael Credi of California; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Angelina was predeceased by her husband, Dominick W. Cotrone; her sister, Florence Stella; and her three brothers, Michael, Dominick and Carmen DiChiara.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11:00AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Interment will follow at St. John RC Cemetery, Darien, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Angelina’s name to Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902.
