Angelina DiCarlo, 88, a long time resident of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully at her home in Oak Island, NC on May 2, 2009. Born on September 4, 1920 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Sebastiana D’Angelo.
Angie worked for many of her early years as a seamstress in NYC’s garment district. After raising her family and moving to Connecticut, her passion for sewing and crafts remained, as she spent many hours with her friends making items for the St. Leo’s Christmas Fair.
She is survived by three daughters, Maddalena Licata of Wethersfield, CT; Anna Anderson of Newtown, CT; Christine Myers of Oak Island, NC; one son, Nicholas DiCarlo of New Canaan; and seventeen grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Armando DiCarlo.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday, May 8th from 4:00 �" 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9th at 11:00 AM at St. Leo RC Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Darien.
