Angelina Galasso
April 18, 1917 — January 29, 2015
Angelina D. Galasso, 97, a long time resident of Stamford passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 29, 2015. She was born on April 18, 1917 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Benardino and Laura Pietrantonio DiCamillo.
Angie was an employee of Pitney Bowes for many years before her retirememt. She was a gifted seamstress who took great joy in creating clothes and home décor for her family. In addition, she was a wonderful cook who often entertained her family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Laura DeMarco and Kathryn McGrath and her husband Martin. She was also blessed with four grandchildren Danielle DeMarco and Kelly Laccona and her husband George, Christopher McGrath and David McGrath and his wife Alison and also a great granddaughter Olivia Laccona. Also surviving are her loving sisters, Isabella and Nancy DiCamillo, a brother-in-law Carl Galasso and his wife Mildred and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Angie was predeceased by her husband Daniel A. Galasso, her brother Nicholas DiCamillo and a sister-in-law Louise DiCamillo.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 9:50 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 3:00-7:00 PM.
