Angie Panagoulias

Angie “Evangelia” Panagoulias, 88, of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Norwalk Hospital. She was born in Spartia, Greece on February 15, 1928 to the late John and Vasiliki Lounis Rizakos.
Angie was a former employee of Dunkin Donuts, a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society and a fifty year member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Stamford.
She is survived by her loving children, Stavroula Panagoulias of Stamford, Peter Panagoulias and his wife Lefky of Stamford, John Panagoulias and his wife Kimberley of Monroe, two brothers Jimmy Rizos of Canada, Peter Rizakos and his wife Voula of Canada, as well as her three grandchildren Christopher, Maria and Angeline Panagoulias.
Besides her parents, Angie was predeceased by her husband Angelos P. Panagoulias and a sister Panagiota Alikakos.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford at 9:30 AM on Friday, September 9, 2016 for a funeral service to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1230 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Place, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 PM, with a Trisagion service to be held at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Angie’s memory to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1230 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905
