Ann Galassi
May 28, 1949 — October 19, 2015
Born on May 28, 1949, Ann Denise Galassi passed away at her home in New Canaan on October 19, 2015 after a prolonged battle with cancer.
She is predeceased by her father, John Paul Galassi, and mother, Anna Marie Pace Galassi.
Ann is survived by her only brother, John Paul Galassi, Jr. and his wife, Merna Dee Galassi; two nieces, Jennifer Rangel Galassi and Karen Galassi Ferrer; three grand nieces, Kiley Ferrer, Quetzalli Rangel Galassi, and Metzli Rangel Galassi; and one grand nephew, Jordan Ferrer; all of Chapel Hill NC.
A life-long resident of Fairfield County, Ann graduated from Rippowam High School in Stamford and then completed a bachelor’s degree in library science at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. A long-time employee of Bolliger International Movers, Ann was an avid New York Rangers hockey fan and an enthusiastic supporter of high school athletics in the Stamford-New Canaan-Darien area. She was also a staunch proponent of holistic medicine and organic foods and enjoyed watching shows on the food channel.
A memorial service to celebrate Ann’s life will be held at the Nicholas F Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue in Stamford on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 10:00AM t0 12:00PM. Interment will take place privately.
