Ann M. Koda, 86, died on Saturday March 18, 2006 at North Collier Hospital in Naples, Florida. She was born on November 8, 1919 in Waterbury, CT to the late Nicholas and Mary Marena Kowalchyk.
She was the co-owner of Steves Bar and Grill on Atlantic Street in Stamford, with her late husband Philip Michael Koda, and a life long Stamford resident until she retired to Florida in 1986.
She is survived by a son, Michael Koda of Darien; a daughter, Phyllis A. Winslow of Fort Myers Beach, FL; a brother John Kowalchyk of Dundee, FL; five grandchildren, Philip M. Koda, II of Stratford, CT; Mary Elizabeth Sutton of Westerville, OH; Jennifer L. Link of Mountain Home, ID; Staci Ann Winslow of Stamford, CT; Kevin T. Winslow of Stratford, CT; and seven great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Augustina (Tina) Koda.
A funeral service will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT, on Friday March 24, 2006 at 11:00 AM with the Very Rev. Vladimir Horoschak, Pastor of the St. Marys Russian Orthodox Church of Stamford, Officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday March 23, 2006 from 4:00 8:00 PM, with Parastas being held at 7:30 PM.
