Ann M. Yenco, a long time resident of Stamford, passed away on Friday May 5, 2006 at Norwalk Hospital at the age of 88.
Born in Stamford on April 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Konstantin and Anastasia Koczanski Kowalski, and wife of the late Michael J. Yenco.
She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Stamford, and a member of the Rosary Society for many years. Ann and her husband had a foster home with Catholic Charities for over 25 years. Ann also was a para-professional at K.T. Murphy School in Stamford for many years. She had a great love for children.
She is survived by two sons, Edward A. Yenco of Fitchburg, Mass; Steven D. Yenco of Madison, CT; a daughter, Maryann Yenco of Stamford, CT; two daughter-in-laws, Carol and Barbara; and four grandchildren, Michael, Abby, Steve, and Chris. She is also survived by her brother Emil Kowalski of Springdale, CT.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday May 10, 2006 at ----- and proceed to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at -----. Interment will follow at St. Johns Catholic Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday May 9, 2006 from 6:00 8:00 PM.
