Anna Coniglio, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at St. Camillus Health Care Center. She was born in Bari, Italy on October 22, 1915, the daughter of the late Michael and Madeline Laddaga.

Mrs. Coniglio worked at Card Coop, located in Newfield Green which was owned by her daughter, Madeline. She was also a member of St. Mary and St. Leo Senior Groups. She was an avid reader and loved cooking, baking, knitting and crocheting.

Mrs. Coniglio is survived by her son, John Coniglio and his wife Vinnie of Stamford, and their children, Carmine, Anne Marie Tedesco and Barbra Somoano; a daughter, Madeline Sabia and her husband Jim of Stamford, and their children, Bernadette Sabia, Suzanne Santrock and Mary Ellen Stokes; and daughter, Camille Coniglio of Stamford; a sister, Betty Fenamore; and a brother, Vincent Laddaga. Eleven great grandchildren also survive. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Carmine J. Coniglio and her brother Ralph Laddaga.

A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, Connecticut 06902, at 10:40AM on Thursday, January 14, 2010 and proceed to St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 from 4:00-8:00PM.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Anna’s name, specified for research of Inclusion Body Myositis. Donations may be made to the Myositis Association via mail, 1737 King Street, Suite 600, Alexandria, VA 22314, or online at tma@myositis.org.
