Anna Stathopoulos

Anna Stathopoulos, 94, a longtime resident of Stamford passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Anna was born in Loggastra, Greece, on May 5, 1927, daughter of the late Christos and Georgia Anastasopoulos.
Anna moved to the United States in 1968 and worked in Stamford for several years before raising her grandchildren at home. Anna was an amazing mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. She loved life and lived it with inspiring strength. Anna will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Anna is survived by her three daughters, Effie Maragos and her husband John of Bristol, Georgia Stathopoulos of Stamford, and Margarita Kakouros and her husband Petros of Stamford. Her sister Matoula Mihalakos and sister-in-law Eugenia Anastasopoulos both of Greece. Her loving grandchildren, Angelo Maragos and his wife Jenny of Wellesley, Peter Kokkinos and his wife Domonique of Fairfield, Anna Kokkinos of Norwalk, Peter Kakouros and his wife Ivana of Stamford and Anna, Spiro and Stacie Stathopoulos all of Stamford. Her cherished great-grandchildren Evan, Jack, Christopher, Reese, Alessia and Nicholas. Anna is also survived by her nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Greece.
Besides her parents, Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband Spiro Stathopoulos and their son Panagiotis Stathopoulos, along with her brother Elias Anastasopoulos.
Family and Friends may call at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1230 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 7:00PM to 9:00PM
A Trisagion service will be held at 7:30PM
A funeral service will be held the following morning, Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at the Woodland Cemetery, Woodland Place, Stamford.
