Anne Romano

Anne Marie Romano, 86, of Stratford, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Bridgeport Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Greenwich on November 25, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Anna DiFranco Licato.
Anne resided in Stamford for 55 years before moving to Stratford with her daughter Linda. She enjoyed arts and crafts and especially playing Bingo with all of her friends at the Baldwin Senior Center in Stratford. Anne worked at Yale and Towne where she met her loving husband, Arthur, in 1941. She then worked for Electrolux until 1944. After raising her family, she worked for the Stamford Public School System as a Cafeteria Worker at Hart School.
Anne was a loving mother and grandmother. She was survived by her children, Arthur J. Romano, Jr. & his wife Helene of Stamford, Carol Anne Kinsella & her husband Patrick of Stratford, Linda Romano of Stratford, and Janet Fox & her husband John of Norwalk; five grandchildren, Pamela & Robert Romano of Stamford, Patrick Kinsella of Atlanta, GA, and Karen & Alexis Fox of Norwalk; a sister, Mary Dellipoali of Stamford; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Arthur J. Romano, Sr., and her sister, Josephine Librandi.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Wednesday, May 13 from 4:00 �" 8:00 PM.
A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home on Thursday, May 14 at 9:40 AM and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien.
