Anthony “Tony” Cipri, 90, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. He was born on March 30, 1925 in Stamford to the late Anthony and Josephine Cesario Cipri.
Tony was a member of the #171 Teamsters Union and was employed as a truck driver for Petro Oil for many years before his retirement. He was an avid gardener and a true family man.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rose DiSette Cipri of Stamford, his loving sons Anthony
Cipri and his wife Gina of Brookfield and Richard Cipri and his wife Lisa of Wilton as well as his four
grandchildren, Jessica, Victoria, Matthew and Brian Cipri.
Besides his parents, Tony is predeceased by his brother Nick Cipri and his two sisters Mary Mazzacappa
and Janet DiSette.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday April 10, 2015 at 12:00PM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford at 12:30PM. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday April 10, 2015 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM.
