Anthony James Costanzo, 80, of Southbury, CT formerly of Stamford passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011 after a courageous battle with Waldenstroms Disease and Amyloidosis , at home surrounded by his loving family . He was born on April 27, 1931 in Stamford to the late Augustine and Angelina DeCamillo Costanzo.

Anthony was self employed in the floor covering business for fifty five years before retiring in 1999 and served during the Korean War in the US Navy. He was a multi –talented musician and a self taught sculptor and artist who loved nature and animals. He was a professional trick horse rider having performed in many rodeos, including performing at Madison Square Garden. In his later years he enjoyed cooking, baking bread and making homemade pasta. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Rich Costanzo of Southbury, CT, three loving daughters, Lisa Costanzo of Boston, MA and Cindy Cipolla of Trumbull, CT and Dawn Forgione and her husband Joe of Ridgefield, CT; three loving sons, Anthony Costanzo, Jr. of Stamford, Wayne Costanzo and his wife Bonnie of Stamford and Stephen Costanzo and his wife Maria of Norwalk, CT including ten grandchildren, Robbie, Anna, Sofia, Mia, Angelina, Ava, Hannah, Anthony, Abby and Katie. Also surviving are his two sisters, Connie Carman of TX, Cathy Tangorro and her husband Nick of New Canaan and a brother Augie Costanzo and his wife Barbara of TX.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Wendy Costanzo.

A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 9:50 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Church of the Holy Spirit, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
