Anthony A. Gian

Anthony A. Gian, 82, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born June 23, 1926 in Port Chester, NY, he was the son of the late Angelo and Mary Walters Gianfrancesco.
Anthony was an employee for Acme Electro Plating for thirty-four years until his retirement in 1994. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He was lovingly known to his family as the #1 Grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Muriel J. Kuslik Gian of Stamford; a daughter, Colleen G. Lofaro and her husband Louis, Jr. of Stratford; two sons, Michael A. Gian and Robert J. Gian and his wife Mary all of Stamford; and three grandchildren: Louis L. (Trey) Lofaro, III, Gabrielle C. Lofaro, and Ashley A. Gian. His niece, Lori Scott and two great nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his three sisters: Marie Aquila, Regina James and Anna Esposito.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Sunday, February 8 from 3:00 7:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:20 AM on Monday, February 9 and proceed to St. Maurice RC Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien.
