Anthony D. Guglielmo, 80, a lifelong resident passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Stamford on October 13, 1933 to the late Joseph and Esther Sabato Guglielmo.
Anthony was an electrician with the Local #501 and Local #3 for sixty years before his retirement. He was a volunteer at The Tandet Center for eighteen years, a member of the Sacred Heart RC Church Choir and was the Ha Ha Clown known as Dr. Care- a -Lot at the Stamford Hospital Hospice Care. He was an avid bowler and took pride and joy in his garden along with being Mr. Fix it.
He is survived by his loving wife Luisa Macari Guglielmo of Stamford, his loving daughters Vita M. Rieger and her husband James and Tina L. Guglielmo all of Stamford; two sisters Rita LaBella , Carmella Giordano all of FL, a sister in law Almerinda Macari of Stamford, two granddaughters Shannon L. Guglielmo, Rachel S. Rieger and two great granddaughters Bryanna D. Montalvo and Madison M. Montalvo, including several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Anthony was predeceased by his sister Rosemarie Caruso and a baby daughter Lisa Guglielmo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 10:30AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. There will be no calling hours. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford is honored to assist the Guglielmo family with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Anthony’s memory to the American Lung Association of CT, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.
