Anthony D. “Tony” Mallozzi, 84, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 24, 1927 in Stamford to the late Pasquale and Maria Mallozzi.
Tony was a Master Tool Maker with Pitney Bowes for twenty years before his retirement in 1993. He was also a member of the Pitney Bowes Golden Oldies and served with the US Army in WW II in the 534th Air Engineer Squadron from 1945- 1947. He also loved working in his garden, tending to his fig trees and was an avid fisherman of which he enjoyed his yearly trips salmon fishing in Oswego, NY with his grandson and Captain Tony Buffa.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty five years Mildred C. Burriesce Mallozzi of Stamford, his loving daughters Janice Rudisill and her husband John of Danbury, CT, Teri Boyzuck of Oswego, NY and a son Robert Mallozzi. Also three loving grandchildren, whom he loved spending time with, Officer John Rudisill, Amy and Sarah Rudisill including a nephew John Loffredo , a niece Elizabeth Rubino and several other nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Tony was predeceased by three sisters Rose Telesco, Marie Loffredo and Lena Sciglimpaglia.
A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 at 9:20 AM on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Maurice RC Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Anthony’s memory to St. Maurice RC Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, CT 06906 or to St. Gregory the Great RC Church, 85 Great Plain Road, Danbury, CT 06811
