Anthony S. Pagano Jr., 72, a life-long resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2008, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York. Born on January 22, 1936, he was the son of the late Anthony S. and Mary Fusci Pagano Sr..
Anthony was the owner of Studio Coiffures, in Greenwich and Cos Cob, CT, for 50 years. He then became employed by the Greenwich Salon and Day Spa. He was an active member of St. Clements Church, a great story teller, an avid fan and supporter of the Stamford Youth Sports and he also loved playing poker with his friends. They were very special to him. He was devoted to and loved his family, friends, parish community and customers.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Ann M. Rizzi Pagano of Stamford; a son, Anthony S. and Irene Pagano III of Stamford; a daughter, Trish and Billy Sempey of Stamford; Mark and Liz Ligi of Stamford; a sister-in-law, Ceil Sciglimpaglia and her son Richard; a sister, Mary Carpenter and her children D.R. and Kyle of Melbourne, FL; a brother, Sal and Patricia Pagano and their children Andrea and Patrick of Clifton Park, NY; and five grandchildren, Amanda, Anthony IV, Melissa, Maxwell and Samantha. He will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, Steven D. Pagano and a niece, Alicia Pagano.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, August 22 at 9:20 AM and proceed to St. Clements Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, Darien.
