Antoinette Demasi

Antoinette DeMasi, 88, passed away at Stamford Hospital surrounded by her beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren on December 9, 2008. She was born in Arena, Italy on April 28, 1920.
Antoinette came to America in 1956 where she resided in Stamford with her late husband, Bruno DeMasi, Sr. and seven children. Her family was her life, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and making all her homemade Italian favorites.
She is survived by four sons, Ralph DeMasi and his wife Mary of South Carolina; Salvatore DeMasi of Bridgeport; Michael DeMasi of Stamford; and Bruno DeMasi, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Stamford; three daughters, Stella Battaglia of Stamford; Theresa Almeraris and her husband Gary of Milford; and Rose Meglio and her husband Ed of Stratford; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She also leaves behind three nephews all of Stamford.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday, December 11 from 4:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 10:20 AM on Friday, December 12 and proceed to St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery Mausoleum in Darien.
