Antoinette Demingway, 98, a lifelong resident of Stamford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Hancock Hall, Danbury, CT. She was born in Stamford on November 27, 1916 to the late John and Sarah Esposito Valentine.
Antoinette was fun loving and lived life fully up to her final days. She always loved to be around people, whether it be at a family gathering, socializing with friends at Hancock Hall, or playing Bingo. She was full of life and always ready to go. She’ll be remembered for the love for her family, for her eggplant parmesan, anisette cookies, and a smile and joy that a good jelly donut brought her.
Antoinette was immensely comforted by the unwavering assurance that God was ultimately in complete control of everything, and that He held her hand as she journeyed through life.
Antoinette is survived by her loving children, Joanne Vitti and her husband Tony of Danbury, Joseph Milano and his wife Jeanne of Platsburg, NY, Beverly Cappello of Shelton, CT, a sister Clemy D’Ademo of Stamford, three grandchildren, Mark Vitti and his partner Bobby Edelson, Bob Vitti and his wife Denise and Jeffrey Vitti and his wife Audra, as well as five great grandchildren Joshua, Emmett, Ethan, Mark and Sarah.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Joseph Demingway and four brothers, Louis, John, Joseph and Michael Valentine.

Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 8:00- 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford.
