Antoinette Marie Gergle

Antoinette Marie Gergle, 89, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2008 at Stamford Hospital. Born October 23, 1919 in Stamford, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Madeline Sparagna Palumbo.
Antoinette worked at Twin Terrace Restaurant of Darien, which was a family owned business, and Madelines of Old Greenwich, a dress shop, with her sisters.
She is survived by her son, Joseph A. Gergle, Jr. of Stamford; a brother, Ralph and his wife Eileen Kenny Palumbo of Carmichael, CA; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Palumbo of Fairfield; a brother-in-law, Albino Romano of Stamford; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Gergle, Sr.; three brothers, James, Alfred and Joseph Palumbo; and two sisters, Elizabeth Camerota and Dorothy Romano.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Monday, December 29 from 3:00 7:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Tuesday, December 30 and proceed to Sacred Heart RC Church, Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Stamford.
