Antonio ‘Tony’ Catino, 85, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025. He was born in San Mango sul Calore, Italy, and later immigrated to CT making Stamford his home with his beloved wife, Carmela. They shared 57 wonderful years of marriage together. He built a life evolved around his love and devotion for his family.

Antonio worked as a butcher for many years, and he was very proud of his professional life which he created through hard work and dedication. He loved to go fishing, tell jokes, make people laugh, and never missed the chance to win a game in bocce. His sense of humor and joyful spirit will forever be remembered.

In addition to being a wonderful husband to Carmela, he is survived by his daughter, Angela Cruz, and son-in-law Joel Cruz. He was sadly predeceased by his son, Sabino Catino, whom he missed every day. Antonio was the proud grandfather of Anthony Pagan and Isabella Cruz, who brought him great happiness.

He was predeceased by his brother, Theodoro Catino, and sister, Carmella Catino, and is survived by his nephews, Antonio and Sabino Catino.

Family and friends are invited to attend Antonio’s wake on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, with interment to follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery.

Antonio will be remembered for his strength, love of family, and the sacrifices he made to give them a better life. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
