Arlene Ann Dahlgren, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, at The Residence at Summer Street. Born June 20, 1938, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late George and Helen (Needham) Pierce, Arlene was known for her kindness and generous spirit, touching the lives of all who had the privilege to know her.

Arlene dedicated her career to helping others as a medical assistant, working diligently for both Doctors Littlejohn and Andriani in Stamford until her retirement. A survivor of breast cancer, Arlene found her true purpose and fulfillment in her volunteering at the Bennett Cancer Center, where she offered her time and uplifting spirit to those in need of support. This long-standing commitment brought her much joy and was considered one of her proudest accomplishments.

Arlene is survived by her beloved husband, Donald J. Dahlgren, who was by her side through life's many journeys. She also leaves behind her cherished daughter, Erin A. Meyer, and son-in-law, Jeff; her beloved grandchildren, Lauren and Michael; and her dear sister, Carol A. Hurley.

Family and friends are invited to offer their condolences during the visitation to be held on December 11, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, located at 104 Myrtle Ave, Stamford, CT. A mass of Christian burial will follow at St. Maurice RC Church, located at 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, CT 06906, starting at 10:00 AM. The interment will take place at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Stamford following mass.

Arlene will be profoundly missed by her family and by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff at The Residence at Summer Street for the kindness shown to Arlene and for their compassionate care.
