Armond Heerman “Pops”, 83, passed away at his home with his family and friends by his side on October 19, 2009. Born November 13, 1925 in Medford, MA, he was the son of the late Armond and Josephine Vanderbourt Heerman.

Armond was a Veteran of WWII serving in the US Coast Guard as well as serving during the Korean War in the US Air force. He began his career in Railroad Transportation in 1953 as a clerk, working his way up to Vice President for the B&M Railroad until 1970. He then went to Great Lakes Carbon Corporation as Vice President from 1970-1985. For twenty years after his retirement, he managed and volunteered for Call-A-Ride of Greenwich.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, “the love of his life” Jean Perrotti Heerman; a daughter, Marcia Heerman; and a brother, William Heerman.

Survived by his daughter, Donna Thompson and her husband Glenn of Cocoa Beach, FL; his son, Jack Heerman and his wife Joann of Stamford; his sister, Josephine Kline of Medford; granddaughters, Kara Secher of Reading, MA; Melissa, Natalie and Samantha Heerman of Stamford; and a grandson, Jake Heerman of Stamford. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday, October 22 from 4:00 �" 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Friday, October 23 and proceed to First Congregational Church, 108 Sound Beach Avenue, Old Greenwich, CT, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM with Rev. Dr. David Young. Interment will follow at the church yard cemetery.
