Arthur "Fro" Bates, Jr.

Arthur Bates Jr. was born July 20, 1961 at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Connecticut to Evelyn Dobbins and the late Arthur Dobbins. He was known to his family as“Fro”. Arthur attended Pine Hill High School in Camden, Alabama as well as Wallace Technical College and ThomasvilleTechnical School. He worked for Johnson Construction in Alabama and then moved on to work for Brookside Nursery in Norwalk, Connecticut and Kaster Moving Company in Stamford, Connecticut.He was a man of very few words but he fed your soul with his laughter. Hard working,dedicated , caring and the quiet one out of his siblings but had the biggest heart and the silliest sense of human. Calm, cool and collective the one who never let anything bother him.On May 12, 2026, Arthur peacefully entered into eternal rest. He was predeceased by his father Arthur Dobbins; and his two younger brothers; Tyrone and Jermaine Dobbins.He is survived by his son; Kenny Rodgers,his mother; Evelyn Dobbins and his sisters;Dora Dobbins, Johnita Dobbins, and Iris Brown(Chris); a host of aunts, uncles,nieces, nephews, cousins , extended family and friends.
