Arthur C. Weigner, 95, of Cos Cob, CT passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 18, 2015. He was born on December 23, 1919 in Providence, RI to the late Arthur and Helen Wight Weigner.
He received his bachelors Degree from Bryant University in RI. After his service in the U.S Air Force, he was employed by the national accounting firm of Ernst & Young, and became a Certified Public Accountant. He later joined IBM, where he held several financial management and tax consulting positions. He retired from IBM after thirty one years of service.
He is a former member of the Greenwich RTM, a member of Harmony Lodge #9 of Cranston, RI and a fifty year member of the First Congregational Church of Greenwich, CT.
Arthur is survived by his two sons, Ronald Weigner and his wife Beverly of Sudbury, MA, Stephen Weigner of Cos Cob, CT, two grandchildren Carrie Ann (Weigner) and her husband Patrick Rogers, David Weigner and his wife Senne of Sommerville, MA, as well as great grandchildren Reid Logan Rogers and Willow of Ashland, MA, and a sister in law Gwen Weigner of Warwick, RI.
Besides his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his loving and caring wife Catherine of over seventy years, a brother Robert A. Weigner and a sister Lois Forrest.
Interment will be held privately with a graveside service at the First Congregational Church burial grounds in Old Greenwich, CT. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to assist the Weigner family with the arrangements.
