Attilio Pasqua, 93, of Stamford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. He was born in Stamford on July 24, 1921 to the late Ferdinando and Antoinette Mazzucco Pasqua.
He attended Stamford High School, Class of 1941, where he was a baseball and football standout. He played football for the Golden Bears, semi- pro team, Leonard’s Three Gables Softball Team, City Championship Third Base. Attilio also was on St. John’s Lucky Strike Duck Pin League in Shippan and the Visitations Bowling League at Rip Van Winkle Lanes in Norwalk. He was a veteran of the US Navy during WW II, where he was on a Naval oil tanker in the So. Pacific, Phillipines, Panama and Iwo Jima and was an employee at Clariol for 45 years. He was an avid fisherman his entire life and was a member of the Striped Bass Fishing Club.
He is survived by his wife, Ann M. Jordan of Stamford, two daughters, Elaine Knoess of FL, Joyce Dralle Marciano and her husband Mike of Stamford, five grandchildren, Craig Dralle and his fiancé Ashley Fiore, Erik Dralle and his wife Danielle of Stamford, Richard and James Knoess of FL, Jill Gager of NC and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers Anthony Pasqua and his wife Lucy of Stamford and Fred Pasqua and his wife Emily of New Canaan. Several loving nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides his parents, Attilio is predeceased by his siblings, Rose Pasqua,Dominick Pasqua, Mary Morelli, Caroline Orsaia, Pasquale Pasqua and his son in law Richard Knoess.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 1:00-4:00 PM with a prayer service at 3:30 PM. Interment will be private.
