Audrey D. DeRosa,75, of Norwalk, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Norwalk Hospital on Wednesday, September 14,2016. She was born in Stamford, CT, on September 7, 1941 to the late Anthony J. and Essie Sineath DeRosa.
Audrey was an avid New York Mets fan, a NY Giants fan, and she loved gardening and Elvis Presley, but Audrey's greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Audrey is survived by her loving children, Robert G. DeRosa and his wife Lisa of Monroe, Natalie M. Mydland of Norwalk, Susan L. Cundari and her husband Rocco of Norwalk and Gary A. DeRosa of Derby, her siblings, Linda Woodward and her husband James of Jacksonville, AR , Salvatore R. DeRosa of Ocean Springs, MS, Regina D. Taylor of Charleston, SC, as well as eight grandchildren Matthew and Christina DeRosa, Rebecca and Richard Mydland, Rocco Cundari, Gary, Samantha and Austin DeRosa and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides her parents, Audrey was predeceased by her husband Gary D. DeRosa and her brother Donald S. DeRosa.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 2:00-6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Audrey’s memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd Floor, Bethesda, MD 20814, Special Olympics, 2666 State Street, Suite 1, Hamden, CT 06517 or to a charity of one’s choice.
