Augusta Ciano

Augusta A. Ciano, 88, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain with her family at her side.
Born in Stamford November 11, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Esposito Calandrelli. She was a retired employee of Sears, having retired in 1984.
She is survived by her husband, Frank J. Ciano of Stamford, a daughter Nancy L. Ciano of Stamford, and a son Frank J. Ciano Jr. of Waterbury. Also survived is her sister Aida (Edi) Calandrelli-Longo and her husband Frank W. Longo of Bridgeport, two brothers; Joseph A. Calandrelli of Stamford, John V. and his wife Judy A. Calandrelli of Fairfield. Three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers; Emilio R. and Eugene A. Calandrelli.
A Funeral Procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 9:20a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Funeral Home.
