Barbara Ann Bennett

Barbara Ann Bennett, 65, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2007 at Stamford Hospital. Born January 9, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Rose Abdo.
Barbara was a member of the choir at St. Gabriel Parish. She was a teacher for seventeen years at Sacred Heart School in Stamford until her retirement in 2003. She was also a former teacher at St. Thomas Aquainus in Brooklyn, NY.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Bennett of Stamford; a daughter, Dawn and her husband Matthew Greco of Norwalk; two sons, Joseph J. Bennett of Norwalk; and James J. Bennett of Rochester, NY; and a brother, Peter and his wife Micky Abdo of FL. Many beloved nieces and nephews and two grandsons, Matthew and Jonathan Greco of Norwalk also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Rose Simon; and Elizabeth Abdo; and a grandson, David Bennett.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Thursday, March 15, 2007 from 5:00 8:00 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 9:20 AM on Friday, March 16, 2007 and proceed to St. Gabriel Parish, 914 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery in Darien.
