Barbara Norton

Barbara Norton, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 1, 2007 at Stamford Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone. �"Mema was endearingly loved by her grandchildren.
Barbara was born in Port Chester, NY in 1933, daughter of the late Mitchel Abdelnour and Pauline Haggard. Barbara and her late husband, Paul, were married for 49 years and were residents of Stamford since 1962. Barbara worked at The Learning Center at Piper Hill for 36 years. Barbara chose not to retire and worked right up until her final days.
Barbara loved her two dogs, Snickers and Juliet, and also enjoyed swimming with dolphins and vacationing in Aruba.
Barbara is survived by her son, Stephen and wife Lisa; and their two sons, Evan and Anthony; Barbaras son, William; her daughter, Janice and husband Martin Stauffer; and their three daughter, Katherine, Alison and Laura.
A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, at 10:20 AM on Thursday, October 4, 2007 and proceed to St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 4:00 7:00 PM.
