Beatrice Sabia

Beatrice D. Castagnetti Sabia, 86, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009 at Stamford Hospital. Born October 23, 1922 in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late David E. and Rose Nitti Castagnetti.
Beatrice was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford and Southern Connecticut StateUniversity in New Haven.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, William D. Sabia of Stamford; their four children: Anthony Sabia of Stamford; Cynthia Sabia of Stamford; Guy Sabia of Danbury; and Julia Amicucci of Johns Creek, GA; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers: David Castagnetti and Carmen DeCaro; and a sister, Antoinette Heldman.
Friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, on Monday, June 22 from 4-8 PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 10:20 AM on Tuesday, June 23 and proceed to St. Clement RC Church, 535 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Stamford.
