Bernadette Martelli

Bernadette Martelli, 81, a longtime resident of Stamford passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Stamford Hospital. She was born on July 11, 1935 in Queens, New York to the late Joseph and Marie (nee Honahan) Schell.
She married John Martelli on July 9, 1960 at the Immaculate Conception in Astoria, Queens. She was a parishioner at St Gabriel’s RC Church and also worked for many years for First National Bank and Cornerstone Bank. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed cooking for her family and her trips to Europe.
Bernadette is survived by her husband, John, her three loving children, Joan and her husband Jos Flury of Amsterdam, Michelle and her husband Richard McArdle of Fairfield, CT and John and his wife Keiko Martelli of Stamford, CT. Bernadette is also survived by her two sisters, Loretta Sherman of NY and Brenda Lepre of NJ, as well as five grandchildren Lauren and Steven McArdle and Sara, Lisa and Anna Martelli.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM at The Basilica of St. John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT with Monsignor Stephen DiGiovanni officiating.Private burial will follow at a later date.
In lieu flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
