Bernardina J. Castaneda, 95, of Stamford, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2013 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Columbia on August 20, 1918.
Bernardina was a member of St. Benedict Our Lady of Montserrat RC Church, as well as the Third Order of St. Francis and a member of the Sacred Heart Society.
Bernardina is survived by her loving cousins; Fideligna and James Tenaglia of Darien, Maria N. Carmona of Stamford and Virginia and Jose Izqurido of Stamford.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford on Friday November 15, 2013 from 9:30 to 10:30AM. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30AM on Friday November 15, 2013 and proceed to St. Benedict Our Lady of Montserrat RC Church, 1 St Benedict Circle, Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien.
