Betty Gray Conwell

Betty Gray Conwell, of Stamford, CT. died peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2007 at the Stamford Hospital, following a brave battle with cancer.
Ms. Conwell was born in Centerville, AL to the late Edward Conwell and Paralee Whitted Conwell. She graduated from Austin High School in Knoxville, TN, after which she attended Chicago School of Art in Chicago, IL.
After college, Betty relocated to New Canaan, CT, then Stamford, CT, where she was employed by the Stamford Hospital for 36 years. She was involved in the Stamford Arts Center for many years. She also was a member of the River Haven Admissions Committee.
Betty will be remembered by family and friends as the �"Sunshine in our lives. She brought together so many people in her �"circle of love. She lived her life to the fullest.
Betty is survived by three brothers, Edgar �"Dean Conwell of Atlanta, GA; Walter �"Joe (Carty) Conwell and Joseph �"Don Conwell of Knoxville, TN; three sisters, Doris Holloway; Bonnie Martin; and Margie Pratt all of Knoxville, TN. 18 nieces and nephews; 1 aunt; several loved ones, cousins and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 12:10 PM at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 628 Main Street, Stamford, CT. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions are sent to the Carl & Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center, 34 Shelburne Road, Stamford, CT 06904 or St. Johns Episcopal Church Building Fund, 628 Main Street, Stamford, CT 06904.
